LUNGevity is a national nonprofit for everyone affected by lung cancer, whatever the type or stage. It says it's the largest nonprofit funder of lung cancer research, and it runs a wide set of support programs for patients and caregivers.
What they offer
- A toll-free Lung Cancer HELPLine staffed by lung cancer navigators. They can help with treatment questions, emotional support and referrals for financial help, transport and clinical trial participation.
- LifeLine Support Partners, which matches you one-on-one with a mentor who has been through something similar.
- Clinical trial navigation. LUNGevity partners with Carebox on a trial matching tool, and its Clinical Trial Navigators can help you search for and understand trials by phone, in English and Spanish. LUNGevity describes this as a free service (checked October 2026).
- Clinical Trial Ambassadors, survivors who share what being in a trial was like.
- Virtual meetups and online communities.
- The HOPE Summit, a survivorship conference. The next one is April 30 to May 2, 2027, in Bethesda, MD.
How to join and what it costs
There's no membership. You call the HELPLine or sign up for a program on the website. LUNGevity says its support services are free (checked October 2026).
How it fits with other groups here
LUNGevity is a good general starting point. For biomarker-specific community, see ALK Positive, EGFR Resisters and The ROS1ders. EGFR Resisters co-funds research awards with LUNGevity. GO2 for Lung Cancer offers similar national support. More in my find support guide.
Questions I would ask
- Can a navigator help me understand my biomarker results?
- Is there a LifeLine mentor with my diagnosis or treatment?
- Which virtual meetups fit my situation?
- Can you connect me with someone who has been in a trial I'm considering?
- Can a Clinical Trial Navigator help me find trials that fit my biomarker and treatment history?
