What they do

The clinical team gathers records and connects the case with relevant medical expertise. Patients can request review of a diagnosis, treatment or medical question through their benefit.

Who it’s for

Members and eligible dependents whose Teladoc coverage includes Expert Medical Opinion. Confirm the cancer expertise and review scope available under your plan.

How to start

Check your benefits, then request an Expert Medical Opinion through your account or member support.

Cost and insurance

As of October 2026, Teladoc says the service is at no additional cost when included in your benefit. Recommended tests and treatment have separate insurance and payment rules.

What to check

This is an informational expert review, not a treating physician relationship. Benefit eligibility and services vary; a general Teladoc account does not establish access to this benefit.

How it fits

Like 2nd.MD and Included Health, eligibility through a benefit is the first thing to check. This is different from buying a hospital consultation directly.

Questions I would ask

  • Which specialist would review my cancer and the decision I am facing?
  • Does the review include rereading the actual scans and pathology, or only their reports?
  • What will I receive, and how can my oncologist ask follow-up questions?
