GO2 for Lung Cancer (legally GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer) is a national lung cancer advocacy nonprofit founded by patients and survivors. It serves anyone affected by lung cancer, and it also works on screening and early detection.

What they offer

  • A free HelpLine for one-on-one support, from screening questions to finding resources.
  • LungMATCH, a free treatment and trial navigation program. Navigators help you understand biomarker results, treatment options and clinical trials you might qualify for. GO2 reports that in 2022, 40% of people who contacted LungMATCH about trials went on to join one.
  • Phone Buddy, which pairs you with a trained volunteer who has been through something similar.
  • Gathering HOPE, a casual virtual social, plus Mind Over Matter, a free five-week virtual program for managing emotions.
  • A network of lung cancer-specific support groups.
  • Lung Cancer Living Room, a monthly livestream with experts and patients.
  • Free educational materials you can download or have mailed to you.

How to join and what it costs

There's no membership. Call or email the HelpLine, or sign up for a program on the website. As of October 2026 GO2 describes the HelpLine, LungMATCH and its educational materials as free.

How it fits with other groups here

GO2 co-hosts Gathering HOPE with Young Lung Cancer Initiative. LUNGevity offers similar national support. For biomarker-specific community, see ALK Positive, EGFR Resisters and The ROS1ders. My clinical trials and find support guides cover more.

Questions I would ask

  • Can LungMATCH review my biomarker report and suggest trials to ask my oncologist about?
  • Is there a Phone Buddy with my diagnosis?
  • Is there a support group near me, or a virtual one?
  • What should I bring to my next appointment?
